CAREERS / Junior Associate Programme
“I have felt at home from the very start, involved and valued.”
The Baker McVeigh Junior Associate Programme was created to give equine veterinarian graduates the opportunity to gain equine-specific experience from the most sought-after Baker McVeigh practices.
Following acceptance, successful candidates are asked to join a two-year contract of employment and commit to one full year of employment within the host practice. With much consideration, there is the possibility of a long-term employment contract after the employee and BMI board convene at the end of the two years.
These two years would be spent at any of our eight practices around the world, as part of what makes us an acclaimed practice is our ability to transcend borders and consult globally. In addition, we will cover the expenses of visas, work permits, travel and accommodation.
What to expect
A unique, structured and practice-based two-year course set within our world-renowned Baker McVeigh practices.
Veterinarians will be guided and trained in all aspects of equine sports medicine and surgery, giving them a broad and solid foundation to advance their careers.
Veterinarians will spend time at our different Baker McVeigh practices, giving them the opportunity to travel.
There will be a unique balance between hospital work, ambulatory time and sales vetting, giving junior associates a wide array of experience.
Veterinarians will be supported, assessed and receive regular feedback regarding their progress within our programme.
All core skill sets applied by the course must be met prior to the vet advancing further within the Baker McVeigh group.
