In 2010, John McVeigh and Antony Clements partnered with Hélène Mennessier to establish a Baker McVeigh practice in Chantilly, France.

Our Chantilly equine veterinarians are a group of highly experienced professionals. They work together to provide the equine community in Chantilly with superior service from their base on the famous track of Les Aigles.

Leading the Baker McVeigh group is the renowned John McVeigh, a prominent figure in international horse racing circles. For three and a half decades, John has played a significant role in the expansion and development of our Baker McVeigh practices, overseeing the business’s growth across six practices, over three continents.

John is based in Summerveld and continues to travel to our other practices, offering his assistance, expertise and knowledge.

Dr Antony Clements

Antony Clements joined the Baker McVeigh group in 2001, having previously worked in practices in Hampshire and the University of Glasgow. He has extensive experience and post-graduate qualifications in equine orthopaedics. After moving to Durban and helping to establish the Cape Town practice, Antony moved to the UK where he became the managing partner of the Newmarket practice. He now tends to the needs of the larger clients and offers consulting services across the UK, Europe and the Middle East.

Dr Hélène Mennessier

Hélène completed her veterinary studies in Belgium and worked with small domestic and wild animals in Gabon. She then started her equine career and moved on to racehorses in Chantilly. Hélène spent some time at both South African practices before arriving in Chantilly, where she, together with John McVeigh and Antony Clements had established the practice in 2010. Hélène holds an amateur trainer license and is very involved with the main racing yards and sales in the area.

Dr Jean-Charles Lepeudry

JC has been passionate about horse racing since an early age, growing up on his family’s stud farm Elevage de Tourgeville near Deauville. He studied in France at Nantes and, as a student, he became active in auctioneering as a bid spotter. JC also spent time at Baker McVeigh Cape Town in 2011 and then joined Baker McVeigh Summerveld in 2013. In August 2017, Jean-Charles relocated to our Newmarket practice where he is mainly involved in racing and vetting horses at the sales. In February 2021, after spending three years in Newmarket, JC returned to his homeland and joined our Chantilly team.

Dr Line Gimenez

Line undertook her degree at the University of Liege in Belgium. After graduating, she completed an internship at the University of Liege. She then undertook a second internship in Newmarket before taking on an ambulatory position in Lambourn. Line is part of our Baker McVeigh Junior Associate Programme, she started her journey with us in Chantilly in August 2021.

Dr Rohan Abandes Kenyon

Rohan joined the Baker Mcveigh team in Newmarket in 2018 where he developed a great interest and gained significant experience in racehorse medicine. In 2020, he went on to be the resident vet at a large rehabilitation centre with world-class facilities (Shadwell Estate). He has almost completed his CertAVP in Equine Orthopaedics.

Outside of work, Rohan enjoys travelling, running and cooking.

In 2023 he joined the French team in Chantilly

Dr Dunja Hamouda

Dunja studied at the University of Murcia, except for an Erasmus year at University of Padova. She then completed a rotating internship in Belgium at Equitom equine hospital. Looking for further training in the orthopaedic field, she joined the Baker McVeigh group in 2023. Her main interests are lameness workups and diagnostic imaging.

Dr Marie Laekeman

Marie graduated from the University of Ghent, Belgium in 2022. After a one-year rotating internship specialising in equine surgery and medical imaging at that same faculty,she joined our Junior Associate Programme in 2023, spending time at our international practices where she gained experience in working with racehorses and where she developed a strong interest in sports medicine. Marie then joined our Chantilly practice in early 2024.
